PETERSFIELD TWINNING ASSOCIATION

Who can join?

Any person, family, organization or company interested in furthering these objectives, regardless of whether or not they speak any other languages.  The current annual subscription rate is £8 per individual, £12 per family, or £20 for a group or company.

What do you get as a member?

A quarterly newsletter offers members information about past and future events and also the chance to join in the activities of the Association, as well as  giving details of visits to and from our twin towns.
As we do not rely on council monies, at most events we try to raise funds to ensure we can always give a proper welcome to our visitors and reciprocate their hospitality.  Past activities have included games of ‘boules’ played on the pitch at The Avenue Playing Fields, barbecues held on Bastille Day (14th July), skittles evenings, quiz evenings and an annual post-Christmas dinner.  We are always looking for new ideas.  We can also offer occasional language classes for those whose language skills may have declined!
Objectives:

To foster and promote goodwill and friendship between ourselves and the organizations and individuals of Barentin in France, Warendorf in Germany and other European towns.  The Association is run in accordance with a constitution and an Annual General Meeting is held in March.  It is run by an elected committee who organize social and fundraising events for the Association and who encourage families and groups within the town to make and maintain connections with the Continent.  They liaise with their European counterparts, linking clubs, individuals and companies wishing to make visits and offering the opportunity for work placements.
